Abu Dhabi Corporate Governance Conference

  1. The Annual Conference
  2. In 2008, the Abu Dhabi Center for Corporate Governance (ADCCG) was inaugurated with the purpose of raising awareness on the topic of corporate governance for the public and private sectors in the UAE and the region. Our strategy was to spread the word as wide as possible on the numerous benefits of corporate governance by capturing the attention of mass publics and stakeholders including authoritative figures, decision makers, policy analysts, academics, board members, executive management, internal auditors and other professionals.

The 1st annual conference in 2009 marked the success of our strategy. Professionals from around the region attended the annual event to listen to international practitioners speak about best practices, implementation methodologies, risk management, benefits, case studies and success stories on good corporate governance. The great success of the first annual conference triggered the attention of officials in the country who supported the idea of holding an annual event and participated in related seminars and conferences resulting from the conference later that year. The annual conference, then, became one of the most important services that the Center offers and one of the most anticipated corporate governance events in the region attracting top international organizations like the IFC, OECD, UNCTAD, GCGF, ICGN, ICFFR, and local organizations such as the GSEC, SCA, ADX, Du, Dana Gas and many more.

As a result, the annual conference continues to be rooted in our core communication strategies and continues to bring in innovative ideas for the public dialogue.
